Lincolnshire Wedding - Dower House Hotel
Sometimes, just sometimes the stars align and some awesome stuff happens.. You just have to look in the right places. Like when Ben & Rachel contacted me to photograph their wedding over in Woodhall Spa at the Dower House Hotel. These guys, like many had been through it all trying to plan their wedding through numerous restrictions, but managed to hold on tight to their planned date as it was sentimental to them both. Everything else, in their very own words and mantra for the day “Whatever happens, happens.”
COOL AS A CUCUMBER!
I knew I wanted to pull something special out of the bag for these guys, I also happened to know that… Like some kinda freakin’ magical mystery, there is a 100+ year old Cinema neatly nestled in the woods behind their chosen wedding venue at Dower House Hotel. The Kinema in the Woods dates back to 1922, originally served as a farm building, then a concert pavilion and since, a Cinema. It’s the UK’s only cinema to make use of back projection on each of their 3 screen rooms.
Unfortunately, but fortunately for us the cinema was still closed due to lockdown restrictions. I contacted them ahead of the wedding to beg and they agreed to open up so we could nip inside and have the place to ourselves for some photos in this Magical place!
It also gave Ben & Rachel some quiet time out to just sit, relax and take in their day and in true rebel style, have a smooch on the back row.
To pull something like this out of the bag for this couple was something I took great pleasure in and I loved to going that extra mile to add to their day. It’s so much more than just taking photos.
