Wedding photographs that feel as real as the day itself.
A wedding day moves quickly. Conversations overlap, friends collide, small moments happen quietly at the edges. My job is to notice them and preserve them with care.
Working with both film and digital, I document the day as it unfolds so the photographs feel honest, relaxed, and unmistakably yours.
The most meaningful photographs happen when people are relaxed enough to be themselves.

A way of working that keeps the day feeling natural
Film and digital together
Digital captures the pace of the day. Film adds texture, depth and permanence.
A Documentary Approach
I work quietly and intuitively, helping the day flow rather than interrupting it.
For creative, thoughtful couples
People who value atmosphere, connection, and good design.
I’m Luke, a photographer based in Nottinghamshire, working with both film and digital to document weddings across the UK.
To me, a wedding day is less about a timeline of events and more about the atmosphere that builds when the right people gather in the same place. The energy shifts throughout the day, conversations overlap, and the most meaningful moments often appear quietly in the spaces between the obvious ones.
My approach is simple. I move through the day calmly, paying attention to what’s unfolding rather than trying to manufacture it. Occasionally I’ll guide things when it helps, but most of the time the best photographs happen when people feel comfortable enough to forget about the camera entirely.
The result is a set of images that feel honest to the day itself. Photographs that hold the atmosphere, the people, and the small details that tend to mean even more years down the line.
What tends to matter most to the couples I work with
Calm presence
Weddings can be beautifully unpredictable. My role is to move through the day quietly and confidently, helping things flow without adding unnecessary pressure.
When people feel comfortable, the photographs follow naturally.
Attention to the in-between moments
Some of the most meaningful photographs happen just outside the obvious moments. A glance, a conversation, a small reaction that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
Those details often become the images couples return to most.
Film and digital together
Digital captures the pace of the day. Film adds a softness and depth that gives the images a tactile, timeless quality.
The combination allows me to work instinctively while still producing photographs with character.
Experience that keeps things effortless
After years of photographing weddings you begin to recognise the rhythm of the day. Knowing when to step forward and when to step back is where the craft lives.
That experience allows you to enjoy the day fully while I take care of preserving it.
“Luke was everything we wished for in a photographer and so much more!
We found Luke at the Un-Wedding Show in Sheffield, we were drawn to his documentary style photography.
Luke fit into the party perfectly and worked incredibly hard to capture genuine, thoughtful and entertaining photos. They are photos we will treasure forever. We’d said all along that we just wanted to capture the vibes and the love, and that he certainly did.
Our family and friends are just as obsessed as we are and we couldn’t be any more grateful.
Not only is Luke a spectacular photographer, he is also a wholesome, caring and thoughtful guy. Thank you so much!”
A way of working that keeps the day feeling natural
Every wedding develops its own rhythm. The energy shifts throughout the day as people arrive, reunite, celebrate and settle into the moment.
Rather than directing everything, I move through the day paying attention to what’s naturally unfolding. Sometimes that means stepping back. Occasionally it means offering gentle guidance when it helps.
The balance keeps the day relaxed while still producing thoughtful, carefully composed photographs.
The aim is simple. Images that reflect how the day actually felt to be there.
One day these photographs will bring you straight back into the room.
Not just how everything looked, but how it felt to be there.
The people who filled the space, the atmosphere as the day unfolded, the quiet moments that passed almost unnoticed at the time.
Those are the moments that tend to matter most later.
I take on around 25 weddings each year to give every couple the attention their day deserves.
