Christy & Joe - Nottingham Canalhouse Autumnal City Wedding

Just Married couple outside Church, with colourful bio degradable confetti being thrown

From our first meeting over Zoom, I could tell that we were going to be in for a treat with Joe & Christy’s wedding. The Ceremony took place in Christy’s family’s local parish, St Helen’s Church in Selston, Nottinghamshire. Naturally, a beaut of a ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest in this big ol’ stone built Church.
After the Ceremony, the reception took us for a change of scenery in to Nottingham City, nestled down by the Canal towards the Broadmarsh shopping centre (RIP). The Canalhouse bar is a former narrow boat museum in a Grade II listed brick building with loads of luscious light pouring through the big factory windows and even includes it’s own resident narrowboats inside!

Joe and his Groomsmen, tactfully decked the venue out to tie in with the changing of seasons. The tables & rafters were decorated with Golden Leaves and lights, along with train platform numbers as table numbers as a nod to where they first laid their loving eyes on each other!

Between courses, the weather blessed us with some golden hour light breaking through what had been a pretty grey cloudy day. So we quickly managed to slip away for a stroll along the Canal to catch a quiet moment and some most excellent evening light before the antics of the Party ahead!

Glorious!
